Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well! Mine is going pretty well. I am teaching a Holocaust unit to my kids, and while it's emotionally taxing, I'm really pleased with the conversations we've had so far and the insight my kids have. When you need them to, they really pull through. They get it.
I have another DIY from my yoga retreat :) Avocados are amazing. For your body, your skin, and your hair! It's packed with nutrients and will give your hair and skin a silky smooth feel and shiny look. Also, avocados contain many proteins and vitamins, including A,D, E and B6 as well as magnesium, folic acid, amino acids, copper and iron, all of which can help with both hair growth and nourishment!
And don't even get me started on coconut oil. This stuff is a godsend. Coconut oil has a really, super strong sealing component to it, and it sticks to protein more than other hair oils. Which is like, awesome. It helps hair maintain moisture and hydration. And talk about making your hair soft....ahhhh. If you're not using coconut oil in your hair, you probably should be.
Combine about 1/4 cup coconut oil, 2 tbsp honey, ad 1/2 avocado. Mix that shit up. Lather it into your hair. I put it in my hair while it was still dry. Leave it on for about 15 minutes and then shampoo and condition your hair like you normally would! Comb, dry out, and enjoy your gorgeous locks :)
I can't believe we're in the last week of #springfeveryogis! Here are some pictures taken lately.
It's been kind of difficult keeping a steady workout routine lately. I feel like I'm trying to be really positive about my situation but sometimes it's hard to pull myself up to do something. Being involved in the challenges is the best thing for me, because it forces me to take at least 5 minutes to breathe, and relax and just be and practice.
Do you use coconut oil in your hair? Do you want to now?
